The American Literature Association Conference
May 27-30, 2004

San Francisco, Hyatt Embarcadero

Topic: Welty and War

The topic includes:
1) the effects of World War II on Eudora Welty's life and/ or work,
2) her glances towards and response to war in Delta Wedding and other texts,
3) her treatment of the civil war,
4) her brief career as Michael Ravenna,
5) her relationship to the ideologies and discourses of fascism and the cold
war.
