Flannery O'Connor and Humor

Deadline: December 15, 2002

The proposed volume is a gathering of new essays on Flannery O'Connor, with specific attention to humor or the comic in her fiction. Broad topics may include but are not limited to the following:

humor/comedy and politics
humor/comedy and race or gender
O'Connor's comic/comedy genre(s)
humor/comedy and identity
humor/comedy and Christianity
O'Connor's comic vision
humor/comedy and violence
humor/comedy and the South
O'Connor's ties to other authors, through humor/comedy

Proposals should be 300 words; completed essays 15-25 pages in MLA format.
Proposals or completed essays are due by 12/15/02.
