The classic Christmas poem is set to a Nashville rhythm as Santa arrives in a 1956 red Cadillac. Decked a la Porter Waggoner, Santa's band is made of Heaven's Opry -- including Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, and Hank Snow. The home Santa visits is decorated in commercial decorations as Mom and Dad watch their dueling big screen TVs with remote control. The children dream of becoming Nashville stars. Thomas Noel Turner is an assistant professor of education at the University of Tennessee. He is also the author of Hillbilly Night Afore Christmas (Pelican). James Rice is the illustrator and/or author of over sixty titles. He has taught art at the grammar school, high school, and college levels.
